his elbows dig into his thighs as he leans forward. he pinches the bridge of his nose, eyes shut, then sighs.

there may be no way to guarantee their patrons do not overextend their influences but there are ways to be wary of it. the signs will make themselves clear; they'd simply have to know what to look for.

"report your findings to beast frost and project infinity if you haven't already. they need to be made aware of what to look for; the signs of one's patron overextending."

the folders are reached for but only one is opened—Cillian Quinn's. the mention of Tempest Quinn and inadvertantly Neffatari Nzingha has him chuckling.

it isn't often that the underboss laughs. in fact, in his many years in the organization, only a select few have ever been lucky enough to be graced with the warm and sentimental sound.

but there is nothing warm about the way he laughs at Zev Harcourt and the situation they all find themselves in. it bubbles out of him; his gruges, his worries, and his hatred; each beat louder than the last.

"the man's ego knows no bounds."

there is no keeping it in check anymore, he realizes. not even the boss and their boss could do anything about it.

what a precarious situation.
